Welcome to Scarborough-Wombarra SLSC. We are a small surf lifesaving club located on Dharawal country, 70km south of Sydney, 10km south of the Royal National Park, 3km south of the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge, and 20km north of Wollongong.

The Scarborough Wombarra Surf Lifesaving Club acknowledges that we operate on the lands and waters of the saltwater Wadi Wadi and the Dharawal peoples.
Scarborough-Wombarra currently have teams that patrol the beach on Sundays and Public Holidays from the September school holidays to Anzac Day.
Patrols run from 10am to 5pm, and the roster is broken into 2 shifts per day, 10.00am to 1.30pm, and 1.30pm to 5.00pm.
The club also assists Wollongong City Council in patrolling the beach on public holiday Saturdays during the season, from 11.00am to 3.00pm.
We have a number of different membership types available, ranging from Bronze Medallion active patrolling members, Bronze medallion non-aquatic members to the younger nippers and their parents.
In order to patrol the beach, members (and potential members) must first obtain their Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue Certificate.
Scarborough-Wombarra has the in-house resources available to run these courses and get potential members the necessary accreditation.
Nippers is for the kids, it’s the fun part of what we do!
Surf lifesaving is a great activity for growing a child’s confidence, knowledge and skills in the beach environment.
By providing a Nippers program, Scarborough-Wombarra SLSC are ensuring that the next generation learns valuable life skills and knowledge which one day might save their life, or even perhaps the life of another.

🌊 🤝IRB Training | Stronger Together 🤝🌊 What a fantastic weekend of IRB training in collaboration with Coledale SLSC! 🚤 We kicked off our IRBD and IRBC proficiency and education program over the weekend, with the beautiful weather and conditions providing the perfect opportunity to get back on the water. Across a day of continuous launches, landings and patient rescues, drivers and crew from both clubs swapped roles and worked with different teams, building valuable experience and confidence working together. A huge thank you to Zac from SWSLSC and Chubby from Coledale for running the Friday evening theory session and Saturday practical training. Your time and experience are helping make both clubs stronger. 👏 With ages ranging from 16 to 57, it was great to see members of all ages and genders getting involved, upskilling and becoming comfortable in the boat as the season starts. Most importantly, we had a heap of fun along the way! 🌊☀️ This program will now be rolled out across both clubs as part of our early-season calendar, continuing to build a strong working relationship between our northern corridor clubs.
